MANCHESTER, N.H. — Mothers who have lost children to overdoses have created a support group in New Hampshire that they hope to take nationwide.
Cheryl Juarie, of Marlborough, Massachusetts, says her 23-year-old son died from overdose in 2011. She tells WMUR-TV (http://bit.ly/2tmHfuF ) that she spent two and a half years “literally crying myself to sleep.”
Juarie created a support group on Facebook, called Team Sharing, to reach out to other parents who have lost children to the ongoing drug epidemic. The group has hundreds of members from across New England.
Kathleen Scarpone joined the Massachusetts group after her son overdosed in 2015.
Scarpone is creating a new group specifically for New Hampshire residents who have lost children to overdoses, saying there are probably hundreds more that need help.
