Markle Daniel Hobbick, 70, of Columbus, died at 11:58 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2017, at his home.

He was born in Tacoma, Washington, Sept. 28, 1946, the son of Ralph and Gussie Dishman Hobbick.

He married Patricia A. Rentfrow June 30, 1968, at the Taylorsville United Methodist Church and she survives.

Mr. Hobbick was a retired truck driver and enjoyed working with his hands, which included woodworking and tinkering with about anything. He was baptized in the Pentecostal faith.

It was his wish to be cremated. A gathering of family and friends with a pitch-in will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bartholomew County Shrine Club, 8630 S. County Road 150W, Columbus, Indiana 47201. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Hobbick; sons, Daniel Benjamin Hobbick of Columbus, Larry Wayne (Stacey) Hobbick of Lancaster, South Carolina and Brian Curtis (Kendra) Hobbick of Columbus; daughter, Teresa (Mark) Waltz of Cortland, Indiana; 9 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one granddaughter.
