Frank Burton

Columbus

Frank E. Burton, 63, of Columbus, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence.

He was retired from Cummins Engine Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Order of Eagles and Columbus Moose.

Frank was blessed to retire early in life, which gave him more time for one of his favorite hobbies – fishing. Everyone would tell you, Frank could catch a fish in a mud puddle. If you were lucky enough to get to go fishing with him, hope you packed your lunch because you would be there all day. He also enjoyed time with his family very much. Camping was really important to him; it gave him quality time with his family. Old country music, hunting and good friends meant a lot to him. He really enjoyed going to the ball parks and watching the grandchildren play. He was a very caring person and will be truly missed by all. Rest in peace.

Services will be at 6 p.m. on Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Burton was born on Oct. 9, 1953, the son of Frank “Windy” William and Joyce Baker Burton.

On March 24, 1973, he married Mary Lininger, his true love. Frank would always send flowers to Mary for all special occasions and if she was not smiling. He always bought 11 red roses because she was the 12th.
