Columbus Tech Talk teaches public robotics

Purdue Polytechnic Columbus and IT Robotics are inviting the public to attend the first Columbus Tech Talk.

The event will be 6 p.m. Thursday in the Columbus Learning Center Auditorium, 4555 Central Ave., Columbus. It is open to anyone interested in or currently studying or working in robotics or biomechanics-related fields.

Lauro Ojeda, assistant research scientist in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan, is the speaker. He will talk about his work using inertial measurement units in motion-tracking applications. IT Robotics also will demonstrate robotic technology at the event.

IT Robotics, which recently opened in North Vernon, has a long-standing relationship with Ojeda and specializes in industrial robot integration for applications in production sectors.

Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to get a free ticket at purdue.edu/columbus.
