VALDOSTA, Ga. — A Georgia man has been arrested after police say he shot his wife in the leg during an argument.

Valdosta police tell local media that 47-year-old Edward Miller was arrested Sunday after a brief struggle between him and a police K-9.

According to a statement from Valdosta police, officers responded at about 5 a.m. Sunday to a hospital emergency room where a woman was being treated for a gunshot wound to her leg. The victim told police that Miller, her husband, had shot her.

Police responded to Miller’s house, knocked and called out multiple times, but Miller allegedly wouldn’t respond or leave the house. A K-9 found Miller in a back room.

Miller faces several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. It’s unclear if Miller has a lawyer.
