BERNARDS, N.J. — Police in New Jersey say that a dump truck overturned on Interstate 287, spilling gravel on the highway and causing a long backup that could last for hours.

State police said that two lanes of the highway in Bernards will be closed for several hours after the crash early Wednesday morning.

The truck flipped over in the northbound lanes of the highway near milepost 29. Delays stretched back to Route 202.
