Police revive overdosing woman, and later arrest her

Columbus police arrested a local woman on a possession of heroin charge after she reportedly overdosed and was revived after an officer administered naloxone.

Officer Maren Crabtree was sent to a home in the 2000 block of Indiana Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Thursday and found Amy M. Lackey, 33, Columbus, unresponsive and not breathing, said Officer Alyson Rech, Columbus Police Department spokeswoman.

Crabtree gave two doses of naloxone to Lackey who was then transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, Rech said.

Officers found a burned spoon, a small amount of heroin and several syringes in the home, Rech said.

After Lackey was discharged from the hospital, she was arrested on preliminary charges of felony possession of heroin, felony possession of a legend drug injection device and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, Rech said.
