The first day of school is exactly a month away, with opening day Wednesday, Aug. 2. There are a number of things for parents to do ahead of time.
One of them is marking time in your family calendar for elementary open houses. Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. elementary schools will conduct open houses on the following dates and times.
July 31
Schmitt and Southside: New families at 5 p.m., all families at 5:30 p.m.
Aug. 1
Clifty Creek: New and Spanish-speaking families at 5 p.m., all families at 5:30 p.m.
Parkside, Smith and Taylorsville: New families at 5 p.m., all families at 5:30 p.m.
CSA — Fodrea, CSA — Lincoln and Mt. Healthy: All families from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. New families should look for welcome tables.
Richards: Parent meeting for fifth grade students at 5 p.m., all families at 5:30 p.m.
Rockcreek: All families at 5:30 p.m., report to the gym after visiting classrooms.
Busy Bees Academy at R.L. Johnson Early Education Center: Spanish-speaking families at 5:30 p.m.
For elementary school supply lists, go to the home page of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. website and click on the “elementary” tab, then on the link “school supply list” for grades K-6. Additional items may be found on your school’s individual website.
For more information on enrolling a student in school, contact the main office of that school after July 17.
