Extra patrol results in drug-related arrest

Columbus police arrested a local man while conducting an extra patrol at a local apartment complex.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Travis Harbaugh was patrolling in the area of Georgia Street and Hege Avenue when he observed Michael A. Goodin, 26, Columbus, in the back seat of a parked vehicle.

Harbaugh confirmed that Goodin had two active arrest warrants through Bartholomew County and arrested him, said Officer Alyson Rech, Columbus Police Department spokeswoman.

Harbaugh found a syringe in Goodin’s pants pocket when searching him, Rech said.

Goodin was arrested on the warrants and a preliminary felony charge of possession of a legend drug injection device, Rech said.
