Brownfield meeting to be at alternate location

A meeting to help property owners, developers and those in real estate identify environmental problems on property using money from a federal grant program has been moved to an alternate location.

The 9 a.m. meeting today will be conducted at the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum instead of the basement of Blackerby’s Hangar 5 restaurant at the Columbus Municipal Aiport, said Robin Hilber, community development programs coordinator with the city. Signs will be posted at the entrance of the restaurant directing people to the new location.

The meeting will offer information about how the city may use the $400,000 grant awarded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2015 to pay for assessment of local properties that could be contaminated by hazardous materials.
