Chester Caudill

Chester Caudill, 83 of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away on July 7, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. He was born on Jan. 4, 1934, in Lee County, Kentucky. He was the son of William Columbus and Lottie (Overbee) Caudill. He married Edna (Adams) Caudill on Jan. 26, 1957.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Jesse Wayne (Cheri) Caudill of Ogilville, Indiana and Robbie Steven (Trudy) Caudill of Columbus, Indiana; daughters, Phyllis Ann (Greg) Erdman of Columbus, Indiana, Sharon Gail (Ted) Dorscher of Columbus, Indiana and Tracey Dawn (Michael) Stevens of Columbus, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Gloria) Caudill of Flat Rock, Indiana; and a sister, Nannie Deavers of Lexington, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Michael, Wayne, Estill and Elmer Ray Caudill; sisters, Georgia Thomas, Elizabeth Ann Deaton and Betty Jean Garrett; and a great-granddaughter, Janelle Diane Erdman.

He retired from the United Technology maintenance department in 1997, after 41 years of service. He also had Caudill Lawn Service for over 20 years. He was a member of Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church where he served as a deacon from 1985 to current.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending church, helping other people and watching Cincinnati Reds baseball.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, by the Reverends Danny Bailey and Mark Polston at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, at the church and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
