Captains Alan and Jodi Sladek, leaders of the Columbus Salvation Army social service outreach and Christian ministry for the past seven years, have been transferred to the post in Shelbyville, where they will begin their work July 19.

Their final worship service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the couple.

The Sladeks will be succeeded by Envoy Amy Tompkins, who comes to Columbus from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, with her son and mother.

The Salvation Army in Columbus is located at 2525 Indiana Ave.
