Local man arrested for burglary after homeowner spots him carrying her stolen property

A burglar suspect was arrested after a homeowner said she saw him walking in an alley with some of her stolen property.

Columbus police officers were sent to a fight in progress in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When they arrived, officers said they found several people fighting in the alley, Harris said. Officers stopped one of the individuals, Brandon A. Kincheloe, 24, Columbus, and later determined he was a suspect in a burglary that had occurred, Harris said.

Officers found marijuana, a large smoking pipe and property allegedly taken during the burglary when they searched Kincheloe, Harris said.

Kincheloe was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, battery, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Harris said.
