Flood warnings issued

Two flood warnings continue for the East Fork White River and the Driftwood River in Bartholomew County.

The flood warning for the East Fork White River at Columbus will continue until tonight, said Shannan Hinton, Bartholomew County emergency management director.

At 8 p.m. Tuesday, the river was at 2.7 feet with flood stage at 9 feet. Minor flooding is forecast and could involve flooding south of Tellman Road and Mill Race Park if the river exceeds flood stage, Hinton said.

The Driftwood River has a flood warning through Friday morning, Hinton said. At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the river near Edinburgh was at 9.6 feet with flood stage at 11 feet. Forecasters are predicting the river will be at 13.5 feet before beginning to to fall below flood stage.

The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department has closed the People Trail sections near the East Fork White River and Mill Race Park due to flooding.
