MACON, Ga. — Authorities in Georgia are trying to identify a dead body discovered by a tree trimming crew.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones told The Telegraph of Macon the decomposed body was taken Friday to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for examination by forensic pathologists.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the tree trimmers found the body next to a vacant house. It was clothed in a shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.

Lt. Randy Gonzalez of the sheriff’s office said it’s too soon to say whether foul play was involved. He said investigators could not immediately determine of the body was that of a male or female.
