Hoosier Hounds 4-H Club seeks members

The Hoosier Hounds 4-H Club is seeking new members as they celebrate another year of learning and competition and begin preparations for 2018.

October Thomas, secretary of the Hoosier Hounds 4-H Club, said 22 4-H members showed 24 dogs in obedience and 10 dogs in showmanship at the club’s recent competition which was part of the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair.

The club’s next show will be June 23, 2018, at the Community Building at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.

The two winners in the 2017 show in obedience were Abigail Gregory and her dog Lulu, a golden retriever, and Thomas with her English springer spaniel Sig.

The two top winners in showmanship were Samantha Helwig with a Mt. Cur named Dodge and Zoe Chase with a boxer mix named Story.

The club’s next show will be June 23, 2018 at the Community Building at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.

Sign up begins Oct. 1 for 4-H for 2018, Thomas said.
