North graduate ties for fifth in Indiana Open

Columbus North graduate Michael VanDeventer shot even-par 71 on Friday at the Ackerman-Allen Course to finish in a tie for fifth place at 3-under 211 in the Indiana Open Championship.

VanDeventer fired a 67 in Monday’s opening round at the Ackerman-Allen Course, then had a 73 in the second round at the Purdue-Kampen Course. The field took three days to complete the second round because of weather issues.

Brian Maurer of Richmond won the title with a 207, two shots better than Michael Davan of Zionsville.
