Legal Aid offers two clinics to provide free consultations

NORTH VERNON — Legal Aid will offer two clinics in Jennings County to provide free legal consultations to low-income individuals.

The clinic program will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and again on Oct. 17 at the Jennings County Public Library, 2375 N. State Road 3, North Vernon.

The clinics are staffed by local volunteer attorneys who will offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals to allow equal access to an attorney. Individuals who attend a Legal Aid Clinic can expect to receive a 10 to 15 minute consultation to answer general questions, offer legal information or to receive limited free assistance or advice. Services are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis and there is no need to register in advance.

Legal Aid is a nonprofit agency providing free civil legal services and lawyer referrals to low-income individuals in an eight-county area, serving Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush and Shelby counties.
