ASPEN, Colo. — A Colorado tourist’s can of bear spray did not meet its intended target.

Pitkin County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Todaro says a female tourist accidently sprayed a can of capsaicin pepper in a bus with several passengers on Sunday after she leaned on her backpack while they were headed to Maroon Bells.

Emergency responders say only the tourist and two other people were heavily exposed to the substance.

The bus continued on its route to the picturesque mountain peaks after the air was let out.
