WASHINGTON — A former Catholic University of America student claims the school unfairly favored his female accuser in a sexual assault case.

WAMU reported Thursday that his lawsuit stems from the school’s disciplinary hearing on the matter. The former student alleges that the university showed preferential treatment to the woman during the proceeding.

For example, the suit claims the administration selectively excluded evidence that would have shown she was not telling the truth.

The plaintiff in the suit is identified as “John Doe.”

The federal government is currently investigating Catholic for allegedly mishandling a sexual assault report filed by a female student. John Doe claims that’s why the school “aggressively disciplined” him.

The school said in a statement that it sticks by its procedures and how it handled this particular case.
