HALEYVILLE, Ala. — Police in Alabama have found the body of a boater who had been missing for more than a week.

The Tuscaloosa News reports marine police from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency recovered the body of 63-year-old Robert Lane Kemp of Fayette on Thursday.

Authorities say Kemp had last been seen July 10. Police launched a search on Upper Bear Creek in Marion County after Kemp’s boat was discovered near a boat landing in Haleyville.

Several search and rescue teams from local agencies helped ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division in the search.
