SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Employment Development Department says the state’s unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in June, unchanged from the previous month.

The department said Friday that nonfarm payroll employment fell by 1,400 jobs in June.

In June 2016, California’s unemployment rate was 5.5 percent.
