NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk police are investigating a fatal shooting in the city.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired went to Ely Avenue at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday where they found a man suffering from what they described as life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Norwalk Hospital where he died.

The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of family.

Detectives worked through the night but there was no word of any arrests as of Friday morning.

One neighbor told The Hour that he heard four or five shots and saw a white Honda speed from the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
