MARION, N.C. — Authorities are looking for a North Carolina woman accused of stealing her father’s money and property.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release posted on its Facebook page that 41-year-old Lena Luprenta Renfroe of Marion is wanted on two counts of obtaining property by false pretense. She was still at large as of Friday.

The sheriff’s office said it received a report in May from Charles Renfroe, who lives in a rest home. He said his daughter was using his ATM card and taking money from his account without permission.

In June, the sheriff’s office said Renfroe’s father reported that someone took more than $34,000 in money and property from his home. According to detectives, the woman pawned some of the stolen items.
