WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A portion of US 52 through a North Carolina city will be closed for repairs beginning next week.

The N.C. Department of Transportation says the highway will be closed between Fifth Street and Rams Drive in Winston-Salem to allow workers to repair broken pavement. Alternating north and southbound lane closures near mile marker 109 will be in effect nightly beginning Monday and continuing through Friday, Aug. 11.

Transportation officials remind motorists to watch signs for construction information and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through work zones.
