East freshman wins Junior Tour event

Kody Reynolds, who will be a freshman at Columbus East, carded a 72 Tuesday and won with a birdie on the third playoff hole to capture the boys 13-15-year-old division of an Indiana Golf Foundation Junior Tour event at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison.

Luke VanDeventer, who will be a freshman at Columbus North, finished seventh with an 82. Jacob Niedbalski tied for 11th with a 90, and Aditya Banerjee was 16th with a 99.

Avery Foist, who will be a senior at East, finished fourth in the boys 16-19 division with an 82. Lily Shelp and Autumn Fateley, who will be seniors at East, took fifth and eighth in the girls 16-19 division at 89 and 97, respectively. Ella Wilks of Columbus was ninth in the girls 13-15 division with a 107.

On Thursday, Reynolds tied for fourth with a 75 in a Junior Tour event at Pebble Brook in Noblesville. Andrew Krueger tied for 33rd with a 92, and Banerjee took 40th with a 97.

Central student picked for All-Star Classic

Brielle Stevens has been selected for to play in the Starting Lineup Middle School All-Star Classic in Terre Haute.

Stevens is a former Southside Elementary basketball player will will be a seventh-grader at Central Middle School.
