OCEAN CITY, N.J. — Authorities have charged a 49-year-old man with murder in the death of his roommate at an Ocean City hotel.

Cape May County prosecutors say police responding to a report of a dead woman found the body of 54-year-old Denise Webber around 8:40 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley Inn. They say it was determined that Kline had caused her death. Prosecutors say Webber and Kline were dating and lived together.

Kline was charged with first degree murder, second degree aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim. It wasn’t immediately known if he’s represented by a lawyer.

No further details about Webber’s death were released. An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday.

An investigation is continuing.
