NEW YORK — Police say a garbage truck hit and killed a bicyclist in Brooklyn and kept going, leaving the cyclist dead on the road.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The New York Police Department says it got a 911 call about a collision and arrived to find 27-year-old cyclist Neftaly Ramirez of Manhattan lying in the roadway near Franklin and Noble streets in the Greenpoint neighborhood.

Police say investigators learned that a green and white garbage truck hit the man. The investigation is continuing.

Meanwhile, police say 25-year-old Kevin Zeng was hit and killed by a city bus in Queens Friday evening after darting into a road to chase a skateboard that he had dropped. Police say the bus driver tried to avoid hitting Zeng and stayed at the scene afterward.
