HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Rescuers got stuck, too, when they went out to assist two kayakers caught at low tide in marshes on Hilton Head Island.

The Island Packet reports that authorities were called Thursday afternoon to help the kayakers in the marshes of Broad Creek.

David Refosco is second mate with Beaufort Water Search and Rescue. He says an airboat from the group arrived around 1:30 p.m. near the scene and got to the kayakers in about 10 minutes. But then the rescue boat got stuck too.

Refosco said the boat got stuck in a ravine among high marsh grass. He said they waited about 30 minutes for the tide to come in and then they were able to maneuver out of the situation and bring everyone to shore. There were no injuries.
