DALLAS — Police in Dallas say a 23-year-old man arrested on a charge that he sexually assaulted a woman this week in her home has confessed to a total of five such assaults this year.

Police said during a news conference Friday that Sean Padilla admitted to the rapes following his arrest a day earlier.

Padilla is being held at the Dallas County jail on two counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Authorities say four of the attacks occurred in Dallas and one in the suburb of Garland.

The latest attack occurred Tuesday as a woman was returning home with her children. The assailant had a weapon and threatened to harm the children if she didn’t comply with his demands.

Online jail records did not indicate an attorney for Padilla.
