Par 3 Golf Course will host scrambles, league

Par 3 Golf Course is hosting mixed nine-hole scrambles at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Players should sign in by 5:15 p.m. Cost is $7.50 per player, and teams are selected by random drawing. All skill levels are welcome.

Par 3 also is hosting a Wednesday Ladies League at 5.30 p.m. Wednesdays. Play will be on the back nine holes with a different format each week.

A new event with a mixture of formats will be played at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at Par 3. The events are open to all skill levels. Golfers are asked to contact the Par 3 clubhouse or show up by 5:15 p.m. on any Thursday they would like to play.

Signups available for Future Boomer camp

The Future Boomer Basketball Camp for ages 3 to 8 will be Tuesday through Thursday at Foundation For Youth. Ages 3 to 5 will be from 4 to 4:45 p.m., and ages 6 to 8 will be from 5 to 6 p.m.

Cost is $50. Participants will get a basketball, T-shirt and shorts.

Northside tennis hosting clinics, meeting, tryouts

There will be “Fun Tennis Clinics” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday and 4:45 to 6 p.m. July 31 at the Lincoln Park tennis courts for any seventh- or eighth-grade boy at Northside or St. Bartholomew schools interested in playing on the Northside tennis team this fall.

A brief informational meeting about the season will be at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 1 at Northside, just before the Northside Open House that starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tryouts for the Northside boys tennis team will be from 4:45 to 6 p.m. Aug. 2 through 4. Players will need to attend all three days and have an IHSAA physical form turned in the first day.

Dirt Dawgs plan baseball tryouts for two teams

The 12-and-under and 10-and-under Dirt Dawgs baseball teams will conduct tryouts for its 2017-18 season at 9 a.m. Saturday on Clifty Park Diamonds 13 and 14. The rain date will be at 1 p.m. July 30.

If unable to make the tryouts, 10U players can call Dan Wright at 812-345-5599, and 12U players can call Max Bumbalough at 812-343-6356 or Scott Pritchard at 812-360-7232 to set up an individual tryout.

Flag Football Leagues hosting benefit tourney

Columbus Flag Football League and bALLout Flag Football of Indianapolis will host “Ballin for Booth,” a benefit tournament for the late Robert Booth, beginning at 9 a.m. July 30 at the PAAL fields.

Cost is $20 per player, and additional donations will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the girlfriend and two children of Booth, who died tragically a few weeks ago.

Signups approaching for youth flag football

Columbus Youth Flag Football will conduct registration from 1 to 3 p.m. July 30, 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3, 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 and 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at Fair Oaks Mall for boys and girls ages 4 to 14.

Cost is $100, and there is a multiple-sibling discount. Games will be played Sunday afternoons from mid-August to mid-October at Central Middle School.

Southern Indiana Select to hold baseball tryouts

The Southern Indiana Select travel baseball team will hold tryouts for its 13-and-under 2017-2018 season from 1 to 3 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 6 at Clifty Park.

Hoosier Pro Wrestling to host ‘Summer Blast’

Hoosier Pro Wrestling will return to the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds with its “Summer Blast” on Aug. 5.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and bell time is 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and free for kids 4 and younger.
