CAMDEN, N.J. — Authorities say a New Jersey man has been charged with murder after they say he fatally shot a woman inside her home.

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo said Saturday that 26-year-old Jamar Maldonado, of Lindenwold, was arrested at the home on Friday.

They say he is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Cheynee Jenkins.

She was transported to Kennedy Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 10 a.m. Friday.

Maldonado is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing set for Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.
