CHESTER, Pa. — Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet that entered his home in the violence-plagued city of Chester, where two men were also killed by gunfire in separate shootings over the weekend.

Police said shots were fired outside the home just before 10 p.m. Saturday, and one went through the wall and struck the child in the upper chest. The boy was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center in stable condition and was to be transported to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports that Chester police earlier found 28-year-old Shaquan Cruz-Chappell dead after gunfire Friday night. Just before 3 p.m. Saturday, officers found a large crowd gathered around a man shot at an intersection. Twenty-three-year-old Teshon Malloy died at the scene.
