LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Authorities say a woman reported missing last week has been found dead in her submerged vehicle in a Pennsylvania lake.

State police in western Pennsylvania’s Fayette County said 63-year-old Cathleen Augustine of Lemont Furnace was reported missing by her sister when she failed to return home from work Wednesday.

Police said she was last seen on surveillance cameras in a Uniontown restaurant and her cellphone pinged on Route 40 in Henry Clay Township shortly before midnight.

Police said Augustine was found dead inside her submerged vehicle in Youghiogheny (yawk-ah-GEN’-nee) River Lake near the Yough Lake Marina boat docks at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The marina said on its Facebook page that items belonging to her had washed up on the lake shoreline Thursday morning. Police are still investigating.
