PHENIX CITY, Ala. — Authorities say a 73-year-old Alabama man is dead after his car crashed on a highway near the Georgia state line.

New outlets report James Jerome Allen of Phenix City was killed early Monday. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says Allen was driving on U.S. 80 when his Ford Thunderbird left the roadway and overturned.

Authorities said Allen was ejected from the car and was dead at the scene when officers arrived.
