Andrew Charles Hamer, 33, of Columbus, passed away at 1:27 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born October 30, 1983, in Columbus, the son of Rick Hamer and Jeannetta (Hamilton) Hamer Overfelt. He was raised in Westport and was residing in Columbus. He was employed at Sunright America for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge at Seymour. He enjoyed music, video games, his car, singing, being a part-time DJ and movies.

He is survived by his fiancee, Rebecca Mathews (her children, Mikaela & Kolbie); his father, Rick (Michelle) Hamer of Salem; his mother, Jeannetta (Ken) Overfelt of Greensburg; his daughter, Kaydin Hamer of Columbus; his sister, Melissa Hamer of Columbus; half-sister, Shana (Andy) Richmond of North Vernon; his step-sister, Addison Overfelt of Columbus; his half-brother, Mike Hamer of Greensburg; his grandmothers, Joan Hamer of Greensburg and Della Hamilton of Westport.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Hamer and George W. Hamilton.

The funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
