CLARKSVILLE, Iowa — A 23-year-old man is suspected of starting a fire that damaged a city hall in northern Iowa.

Authorities say no one was injured by the fire Saturday afternoon at Clarksville City Hall.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office says Nicholas Wessels, who lives in Clarksville, has been charged with felony arson and criminal mischief. Court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for him.

Butler County records say Wessels remained in custody Monday.
