SLIDELL, La. — A Louisiana woman who authorities say fatally stabbed her longtime live-in companion while their three children were at home has been arrested.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports 31-year-old Michelle Adams was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of 37-year-old Rondy Vernon.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call found Vernon suffering from a single stab wound to the chest on Saturday morning. Vernon was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Vernon and Adams lived at the residence with their three children. Authorities say the children are in the care of family members.

It’s unclear if Adams has a lawyer.
