WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A day care worker who authorities say left a 2-year-old boy in a Virginia mall has been arrested.

WTOP-FM reported on Monday that 38-year-old Christal Anita Lundy turned herself in on Friday and was charged with felony child neglect.

Potomac Mills Mall security officers called authorities after the boy was found sleeping in his stroller in the mall’s food court on July 17. The child was under the supervision of the Ebenezer Christian Academy preschool in Woodbridge.

Prince William County Police Department Officer Probus says caretakers for the child returned to the mall an hour later when they discovered the child was missing. Police say the child was returned to his parents.

It’s unclear if Lundy has a lawyer.
