HARVEY, La. — Authorities say that a shooting has left one man dead in a New Orleans suburb.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting that occurred Monday in Harvey. Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Joseph Lopinto says the 18-year-old victim was discovered on the pavement by officers responding to a shots fired call that was received around 11:45 a.m.

The man who had been shot was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was in a back alley parking area between two rows of apartment buildings. Residents watched as deputies worked the crime scene. The victim’s relatives also looked but did not want to comment on his death.

Investigators had no motive or suspect in the fatal shooting.
