NEW YORK — Authorities say they’ve arrested a man they say was involved in a double stabbing in New York City.

WNBC-TV reports ( ) the stabbing occurred around 8 p.m. Monday in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. The New York Police Department says a 50-year-old man stabbed a 42-year-old man in the chest and a 32-year-old man in the arm pit.

The two victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital where they are listed in critical but stable condition.

Police apprehended the suspect near the scene of the stabbing. He has been charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Police aren’t sure what led to the attack.
