WESTBURY, N.Y. — Police have arrested a Long Island teenager they say led police on a dangerous vehicle chase that injured two officers.

Newsday reports (http://nwsdy.li/2vVsZt1 ) Nassau County police arrested the 16-year-old from Westbury on Sunday and charged him with multiple offenses, including two counts of assault and unlawful fleeing of a police officer.

Police say the teen sped off Sunday afternoon in Westbury when police attempted to pull him over because of a license plate problem. Officials say the driver collided with police vehicles multiple times before losing control and crashing into another car.

Police say they found seven bags of marijuana in the teen’s possession when he was apprehended.

Two officers were treated for injuries that aren’t life-threatening. No one else was hurt during the chase.
