BURLINGTON, Vt. — Fire officials in Vermont are investigating a blaze that injured a child.

WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2tY7BC8 ) crews responded to emergency calls about a house fire in Burlington around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The blaze severely damaged the second floor before being contained.

Officials say a 9-year-old boy who was home at the time of the fire has been hospitalized with burns to his hands. The fire marshal is trying to determine how the boy was burned.

Burlington fire officials don’t believe the house fire is suspicious.
