Jenny’s Picks – July 27

I’ve been working on downsizing my possessions but, in my usual contradictory way, I’m not opposed to acquiring more stuff. Sponsored by Mill Race Center and billed as an upscale garage sale, Downsize Me! is an event featuring art, fine crafts, antiques, collectibles, classic and vintage items. The sale is set for from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the center, 900 Lindsey St. During the sale, former Columbus resident Jeff Scofield, owner of the Bloomington’s The Warehouse Vintage Furnishings, will do free appraisals of antiques and collectibles. For more information, call Mill Race Center at 812-376-9241 or see the Facebook page at facebook.com/upscalegaragesale/.

Get “Breaking the Mold: A Floral Design Show,” on your calendar. Scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 and 13 at Bartholomew County Historical Society, 524 Third St., “Breaking the Mold” offers you a chance to get to know five female trailblazers and change-makers of early Bartholomew County. You’ll also get to see fresh floral designs by members of the Mudlarks Garden Club will reflect the spirit of each historical figure. Admission is free.
