Lloyd D. Leonard, age 77, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

He was born September 3, 1939, to Milton I. and Elenita (Stevens) Leonard in Hollister, California.

He grew up in Ionia, Michigan and graduated from Ionia High School in 1958. He attended Ferris State College in Big Rapids, Michigan, where he was a member of the Theta Xi fraternity.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he moved to Columbus and began his career at Cummins Engine Co. Lloyd then moved to Greenwood and worked for and retired from Allison Transmission in Indianapolis.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Julie (Woods) Leonard; his sister, Barbara Sorrell; brother-in-law, Robbie (Linda) Woods; sister-in-law, Nancy Woods; children, Grier (Valorie) Leonard, David Meek, Amy (Meek) Littiken and John Meek; grandchildren, Gavin Leonard, Gemma Leonard, Kayli Littiken, Taylor Littiken and Caden Littiken; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Beverly Woods; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Sorrell and David Woods.

In remembrance of a loving and gentle man, a celebration of Lloyd’s life is set for 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31.
