WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Prince William County Police say they’ve taken a suspect into custody after finding a woman with stab wounds inside a burning home.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Perok said in a statement that officers responded to a home in Woodbridge around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The home was on fire when they arrived, and they found the injured woman and two children, who were unhurt.

Perok says the woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Three officers who entered the home were being treated for smoke inhalation.

Perok said a suspect was in custody but gave no further details.
