OPELIKA, Ala. — An Alabama man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month has been arrested.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports that the Opelika Police Department said in a press release that 20-year-old Vantavious Quintez Hughley was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the July 11 death of 23-year-old Shaquille O. Jones. Reports say Jones was shot after he and Hughley had allegedly argued over personal property.

OPD Public Information Officer Bobby Kilgore says Hughley was arrested after fleeing during a traffic stop. He was with 19-year-old Alexis Dunlap, who was driving and has been charged with first-degree hindering prosecution, attempting to elude law enforcement and resisting arrest.

It’s unclear is Hughley and Dunlap have lawyers. The case remains under investigation.
