MILLSBORO, Del. — Authorities have rescued a 65-year-old Delaware woman who was ejected from a fishing skiff in Rehoboth Bay.

Lt. John McDerby of the Delaware Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources Police said in a statement Friday that officers were on patrol when they spotted the woman’s unoccupied vessel traveling in circles Thursday.

McDerby says officers then saw the victim in the water and maneuvered their patrol boat to shield her as her unmanned skiff drew closer.

They pulled the woman from the water. She was uninjured.

Her boat also was recovered and towed back to shore.
