DECATUR, Ga. — A 37-year-old man is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault in what police are calling the suspicious disappearance of his 78-year-old grandmother.

DeKalb County police Capt. J.A. Lewis tells WSB-TV that relatives of Millicent Williams called authorities Wednesday when they could not reach her.

DeKalb County police Lt. Lonzy Robertson said police searched the home near Decatur and found blood and signs of a struggle.

Police found her grandson, Gregory Williams, in his grandmother’s 2014 Toyota Corolla Thursday afternoon at a Kroger store outside Atlanta.

Police said their main goal was to speak with Williams to see whether he knows the whereabouts of his grandmother. It wasn’t known Friday whether Williams has an attorney in the case.
