GUILDHALL, Vt. — Police say a Vermont man has died after part of a dump truck he was working on at his farm fell and crushed him.

Police said 73-year-old Richard Martin, of Guildhall, was working on the truck Thursday at the Martin Farm with the dump body in the up position. They said it fell on him, crushing his stomach area and back between the frame and bottom of the dump body.

A farm worker who saw him earlier walking around the dump truck called 911 and used an excavator to lift the truck off of Martin, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the cause of death was determined to be accidental.
